This website is my new favourite thing. I recently wanted to create a gift for the teacher I worked with this year and thought about making a 'word cloud'. It was kind of frustrating looking through all of the websites that offer the ability to do this. Many were difficult for me to understand or I didn't have whatever they wanted installed. Mike heard my cries of frustration and found me Tagxedo.com.
Tagxedo was so simple, even I could understand it! You get to put in any words you want and it will make it into word cloud art. You then have the option to change the colour, theme, orientation, font, layout, and shape. My favourite part has to be the fact that you can just 'respin' each category until you get to something you like or you can customize each section. For my example below, I typed in words about Rome:
So much fun! I also found out while playing with it today that you can put in the name of a website and it can make one out of it! So naturally, here is one for my blog:
For my coworker, I made a cute whale with words that described all the
things she did this year with the kids since her classroom is ocean
themed. I printed it out and put it in a shadowbox frame!
So fun and easy! I do have an important tip for adding your words. If you want words to be together, you can not have a space between them. For example, if you want "Trevi Fountain" you need to type in "TreviFountain" Mike and I tried commas, hyphens, and quotes but it only read the words. I also couldn't get it to add numbers to the cloud. Beggars can't be choosers! I'm sure there are other sites that can do this and maybe even better, but Tagxedo was so user friendly, it earned my vote and I have to say, I am having WAY too much fun with it!
